Monkey River

Monkey River a river in the jungle that is famously home to lots of howler monkeys. At the mouth of the river is the small village of Monkey River Town. Located on the coast in the Toledo District (Belize's southern district).

Take a boat ride up this undeveloped river, and you will see a variety of interesting flora and fauna. Then, take a short hike through the jungle to find the howler monkeys.

Tours generally include a lunch stop at one of the restaurants in Monkey River Town.
